Nigeria sends some of the largest numbers of African students to India. Lower fees than the UK or USA, English-taught programmes and strong business, IT and engineering courses make India an attractive choice.
Your results
For undergraduate courses, Indian universities usually look at your WAEC (WASSCE) or NECO results, with credits in subjects relevant to your course. For postgraduate study you need a recognised Bachelor’s degree and transcripts. Some universities may ask about your results in English.
Visa and the Indian mission
India is represented in Nigeria by the High Commission of India in Abuja, with a consulate in Lagos. Most students apply online for the e-Student visa after receiving admission. See our visa guide.
Popular courses for Nigerians
